School Pics of the Day

Aren't they cute? Little Miss V. is showing off her sparkling personality, and Little Bear has been using his highly sophisticated logic skills to work puzzles. They are having a great time at school.

Another milestone....

That I missed! My children have a habit it seems of hitting milestones when I'm not around. Little Miss V. rolled over today for the first time. Now, I've seen her get up on her side, and ALMOST roll over, but today she flipped all the way over. Hopefully she'll do it again soon.

Mom is here!

We've had so much fun with DamMa. She's cooked for us, taken us shopping, went to work/school with us (that was a whole other adventure, too long for this post), and went to a house warming party. Mom wanted to purchase LB a pair of boots for winter. So we took him to Stride Rite.. you know how I feel about that place! We had him measured. You recall those $50 shoes we bought him last month? His toes are at the end of the shoe already. When they measured him he had a thumbs width.... I can't believe his feet have grown this fast. The new boots are cute.. he'll be wearing them by the end of the month!
DamMa also found LB this cute story book player that reads him stories. He's got his new favorite, Nemo, as well as his old standby Elmo!

Aren't they cute? Snuggle time together.

Woe is me

Friday evening, Mike calls. I'm expecting him home on Sunday around 4ish. No such thing. He has been asked to stay next week. That means, no husband/daddy until October 24th.
This bites.

All hell breaking loose...

Mike left for Portland Sunday afternoon, and of course as soon as he leaves, all hell breaks loose. On the way to the metro, Mike had the brilliant idea of handing LB MY cell phone, because he was asking to talk to Uncle Matt, Poppa, and K. During the 10 minute trip to the train, LB drops my phone. When Mike got out he called the phone, searched and searched, yet couldn't find it. I was a bit irritated. Afterall, as he handed my son the phone I asked him not too.... Needless to say, I get the kids home, and my preliminary search for the phone turned up nilch. I get the kids inside, get them secured in their rooms, because, hey this is my only link to the outside world, and on top of everything, LB looks like he is coming down with Pink Eye! I need my phone damn it! I've got to call Kaiser! So I clean out Diet Coke cans, ceral bar wrappers, water bottles, sippy cups, raisens, you name it, it is in my car! No phone. Shit. I go next door to my new neighbor, and ask him to call it. We can't hear it at all. After several attempts, I decide that the phone fell out of the car when Mike went to kiss LB goodbye. I called Mike at the airport. He gave Poppa a call and he hurried over. I got everybody together, in the car, and off to the Sprint Store and then to Kaiser. After all, I've got to get at least 3 doses of the Pink Eye meds in him in order for him not to be contagious!
I get to the Sprint store, and have resigned our renewal contract, have my new phone and their store phone rings. It's my father-in-law. THE DAMN PHONE WAS IN THE DIAPER BAG! He only found it, because he was looking for BB paci. How unbelievably irritating is that?
So with new phone in pocket, we dash off to Kaiser. Luckily the entire NVA was not ill, we were in and out within 45 minutes, not bad at all for urgent care!
So Pink Eye was diverted for Monday. But as you can see, it is Tuesday and I'm home. Yep.. my son is now running a low grade fever and has had diarrhea. Yep... I'm going to pay to work this year. I was planning on BB being sick and me missing work the first month because of her.. not my boy! Oh well.. my mom will be here today actually, but we won't see her until Thursday evening. And Poppa has been helpful. But I tell you what, Mike has only be gone 2 days, and I'm exhausted!

Trying out new toys

Well, she seems to be enjoying her exosaucer. Little Bear liked it when he was this age. As a matter of fact, he seems to enjoy helping her play in it. He's even given her one of his Elmo Birthday hats. He also gave her a bucket, 2 Thomas the Trains, and lots of kisses.

1st Rice Ceral

She tried it... sort of liked it... and then didn't care for it at all.

At Midnight...

Many things can be found in a little boy's bedroom. It looks like my son partied like a rock star. He must take after Uncle Jay.

4 months today

My little girl and boy both had their check-ups today.
Baby Bear stats are:
13 lbs 6 ozs
23 3/4 inches
15 3/4 head circumference

She is petite. Only in the 38% for height and in the 47% for weight.

Little Bear weighed in at 32 lbs and was 36 1/4 inches... He is still close to the 90% for height and weight.
Such a difference. LB was already over 18 lbs at his 4 month check up!

Redskins Game

My husband, brother-in-law, father-in-law and sister-in-law are all HUGE Redskins fans. Therefore we try to get together to watch the games. Matt and Chrissy bought Little Bear his first jersy when he was 3 months old. My daughter has her first outfit, and her cousin has several!

Thank god the 'Skins won. It was a happy afternoon in our household!

Plus the girls looked oh so cute together!

First Bike

We bought LB his first tricycle yesterday. We were good about safety and made sure he had a helmet. We even bought one of those road signs... Slow down my kid is running in the street and playing... He tried it out in our parking lot. What a hit it was. Of course getting him in and out of Toys R Us was a feat unto itself. Talk about tired boy meltdown. He kept screaming.. MINE.. MY BIKE! MY HAT! Yes, yes, yes.. it is YOURS. We have to PAY FOR IT FIRST KID!!!

The Terrible Two's are definitely in full force these days!

Enjoy the pictures.

P.S. Did you notice the HUGE scab on LB's nose? That was acquired when he dove face first off our bed over the foot board. A little rug burn on the face. Maybe he won't play around on the bed next time?

Owwies

As most parents know, there is no SUCH THING AS PRIVACY once you have kids. I was getting dressed this morning, as Little Bear watched. I was placing my nursing pads into my bra when he looked at me and said... "Mommy, owwies?" I laughed and said, yes I guess you could call these owwies. "I want one." With that I laughed harder and gave him one of my nursing pads. He then placed it under his shirt and asked for another one. "One, two", he said as he pointed and counted. I laughed again. Mike, didn't find it as humorous as I did.

Bad Blogger

I've been so lax lately at even ATTEPMTING a post. The kids are great. I'm back at work. We're learning how to get out of the house in a timely manner. I haven't been late yet. Go me! Baby Girl has learned how to take a bottle, and even a bit of formula. That gives me a break. I don't have to get up in the middle of the night to pump to keep up with her increasing hunger.
We've had a fun few weeks going back to the zoo, a housewarming party, a play date with friends in MD, and running tons of errands.
Little Bear is doing great at school using the potty. They give them jellybeans when they use it. My son now grabs his crotch and yells "beans!" when he is wet or has to go to the potty. Can't wait for him to do that one in public. LB also got a new pair of shoes. Poor thing was out growing his sandals. ANOTHER $50 on a pair of Stride Rites. I wish my kid could wear elcheapo Payless shoes! Since I'm using naptime to update, I'll have to post some pictures soon.
