I failed it...

My one hour glucose test that is... I just got back from the Lab and finishing up the dreaded THREE HOUR TEST. My arms feel like pin cushions and my head aches, but other than that, not as bad as the last time I had to sit in the lab for over 3 hours! I should get my results back in 2 days. Let's keep our fingers crossed that I passed this test. Afterall, I only failed the one hour by a whole 10 points!

My students

I realized that I haven't said much about my teaching career. My students are 4 and 5 year olds, and they have been enjoying my pregancy. What a learning tool I've become. Everyday, we have at least 10 conversations about the baby. The most frequent conversation is always about my waist line.
"Look how big your belly is Mrs. D."
"That baby sure is big."
"When is the baby going to come out?"
"What does she look like?"
"I love your baby Mrs. D."
Thank GOD they haven't actually asked me HOW she got there! I keep waiting for that question.

We did it...

We went out today and purchased LB, what we fondly refer to as a Crack Monster. We found him his very own TMX Elmo. He was so excited about his new toy. The pictures can't even begin to capture how priceless the whole scene actually was. I should have recorded it!

Belly Picture

I realized that with this pregnancy, we haven't taken the amount of photos that we did with Little Bear. I thought I'd include one. I am not NEARLY as huge as I was with LB at this time. But, then again, I'll probably have another large child!

Indoor Activities

We've been stuck indoors for 2 days now. I'm starting to go a bit stir crazy. There are so many projects I want to be doing, but I can't, because I can't do heavy lifting or be around house paint. Little Bear misses his friends at school and has been climbing the walls. I had my back turned to him while he was engaged with some art supplies. I looked over, and he had bitten the marker pad off the marker. Thank God for non-toxic supplies. He had also decorated his face and legs with it too. That wasn't as troublesome to me as the marker in the mouth. I know, I know... bad mommy! Earlier, when we had out the fingerpaint, he was trying to eat that too.

Rescheduled

Doctor's appointment that is... Yes the ice storm cometh, and therefore I canceled my appointment. I just couldn't see taking LB with me to the lab and to the OB when school shut down early today. My appointment is now for the 20th. I'm going to try to go in Friday after work to do my glucose test, if not, Tuesday it is! Re-wish me luck on Tuesday!

Week 27

I've got my glucose test tomorrow. For those of you who remember my last pregnancy, keep your fingers crossed! I've done so much better this time managing my diet and watching my sugar/carb intake. I've only gained 15 lbs so far. Hopefully, I'll manage to keep the diabetes monster at bay this time.

More words!

I ran into LB's classroom for a few minutes today to get a few pictures for his Valentine's cards. I had know idea he said the word "zoo". It was story time, and they were listening to books on tape with the books, and he started to jump up and down and yell "zoo, zoo!" I thought it was "choo, choo" which he says at home with his train. He amazes me everyday. I can't believe how fast they grow up!

Recent Discovery

Up until about 3 weeks ago, my son had no interest in TV, characters, or anything of that nature. Sure we introduced him to Thomas the Train, Seasame Street, Winnie the Pooh, but he wasn't interested at the time. OH MY GOD, how that has changed in such a short time. Elmo is like crack to my 18 month old. He can't get enough of him. He owns one shirt with his likeness and calls him Melmo. He owns a stuffed animal of Elmo that he recieved on the day of his birth. Now he can't sleep without him. I pulled out a new toothbrush from my storage of bathroom supplies, and low and behold, it was an Elmo toothbrush. He now brushes his teeth 4 times a day to see Melmo. We invested in Elmo's World DVD's. He will sit in the highchair and wear the nebulizer face mask on his face for the whole 20 minutes it takes to give him both meds. This is AWESOME! I now can pack breakfast and lunch and go start the car in the time that it takes to complete the nebbie! I don't know how I feel about my kid watching 20 minutes of tv 2x's a day, but hey, the nebbie gets done without a fuss!

Grandma is now going to look for a TMX Elmo for him. I hope we can find them easier now that Christmas is over!

Yeah Sleep!

Two nights and a row and counting. Please oh please let it continue! Little Bear is already starting to have quite the social life. Tomorrow we have a birthday party for a friend of ours, not to mention a superbowl party on Sunday. Busy, busy we will be!

Sleep? What's that?

What a week. Typhoid Mary strikes again in our household. This time bringing upper respiratory/ear infections/asthma troubles to Little Bear. The poor thing has been so clogged up with junk he can't sleep. When he can't sleep, I can't sleep. When he doesn't sleep for 3 days, I don't sleep for 3 days. Oh, and Mike is out of town again. Luckily last night (we went back to the doctor for the 2nd time this week) and recieved more meds. THEY WORKED! He slept from 10 until I woke him at 6:20 this morning. I still have black circles, but I'm not as emotional and bitchy.
Keeping my fingers crossed that I can sleep for 8 hours tonight. Wish me luck!
