Busy Few Weeks

The past two weeks we've traveled to West Virginia, had a party for friends and Mike started his new job. Of course did I remember to take any pictures while we were in WVA? NO! Little Bear was having a wonderful time playing with his cousins, ages ranging from teens to his age. This was Baby Bear's first road trip. She did really well on the way there. We timed it well in between feedings. She also slept for 8 hours that night in the hotel! That was FANTASTIC! LB slept with us in the hotel king size bed, thank god it was a king size. Mike thought he was going to start his first day on a new job with a black eye from his son's flailing arms and legs. The trip home took longer, because BB eats more frequently in the late afternoon early evening to get her little belly ready to go for 6 to 8 hours in between meals.

Mike started his new job last Monday. So far so good.

This past Saturday we hosted my friend Kate's Jack & Jill Shower. I'm her Matron of Honor and the wedding is on the 11th. We through her bachlorette evening Saturday night too. That was my first time out in the evening with friends. And it was Mike's first time babysitting both kids alone. It felt SO GOOD to get out and socialize with my friends.

Mike and I have had the opportunity to go out on a few dates since BB has been born and we have relished the quiet time together. Basically, we went to the movies to see the summer flicks we HAD to see on the big screen. The only one we've not been able to see that we really wanted to was Pirates of the Caribbean. Oh well.. it will be out on DVD soon. Mike and I have also managed to share our copy of Harry Potter and finish it during the evenings. I actually did a lot of reading during the day while BB nursed! Loved the book!

I hope to take some decent shots of my kiddos and post later this week!

Mike's 30th Birthday

We celebrated Mike's 30th this past Saturday. The birthday boy got to drink his girlie drinks and eat burgers and cake with family and friends. Happy Birthday Babe! I'm glad you are officially catching up with me.

I love you!

It Finally Happened!

My Little Bear slept in his big boy bed last night. We set up a gate outside his door to keep him from wandering in the middle of the night. With the type of railings we have it is next to impossible to set up a gate to keep LB from going downstairs in the middle of the night, so we are keeping him in his room. It worked well! We told him that he was going to sleep in his big boy bed and the baby was going to sleep in the crib. He helped Mike set the crib on its highest setting and watched me put on the bumper pads and change the sheets. Baby Bear slept in the crib and nursed in the rocking chair instead of our bed. Oh my kiddos are growing up! I'll take some pictures of both kid's rooms in the next few days and post!

2 Month Check Up

2 Month Check Up

Baby Bear had her 2 month check up today.

Her latest stats are:

Weight 10 lbs 12 oz

Height 22 in

Head Cir. 15in

My little girl is in the 40% for height and the 53% for weight. What a difference comparted to LB. At this point for him he was 14lbs and in the 95% for height and weight. Boys and girls are certainly different!

Zoo

Saturday we finally went to the zoo! We went to see the new farm animal section so LB could pet the animals and of course see animals he knows the names of and is familiar with. He was in awe of everything around him. The look
on his face was priceless! On this trip, I also nursed in public for the first time ever. I have decided that screw everyone else, if my baby needs to eat, so be it. I'm not going to put our lives on hold just because I'm nursing. So while I was nursing, Mike took LB to the Ape House. Upon entering the Ape House, my son looked around and asked, "Where Elmo, Daddy?" He asked for Elmo several times, until he saw the gorillas. He was then enchanted and quiet for a few moments. He also enjoyed seeing the elephants, pandas, and seals. We even purchased a large "happy" popcicle that turned his hands, shirt, shorts, and face blue. What a smart mommy I was dressing him in a white t-shirt! We had so much fun, that I can't wait to go again!

Happy?

While feasting on the 4th, my son developed a new phrase. After spying the dessert table, he looked at me with those big brown eyes and said:
Happy? Momma, happy pez?
Happy? What the hell is happy? It turns out that happy is anything sweet. HHmmmm... I think I'll go and fix myself a bowl of happy!

4th of July

We spent the 4th with friends and family, eating, drinking, and lighting fireworks. Thanks Michael and Beeg for hosting. We had a wonderful time. Little Bear and Baby Bear loved spending time with M.L. and B.! Beckha took some beautiful pictures of all the kids that were there. Enjoy the shots!

Ed Grimley?

My daughter has a curl on the top of her head that when it curls, reminds me of that character Martin Short did ages ago.. Ed Grimley. I must say!

Smiles

Baby Bear is officially smiling on a regular basis and dazzling us with her vocal stylings. How I love listening to her coo!

Last week

Thank GOD Nancy came for a visit last week. We were so glad to see her and so was LB. As soon as he saw her he ran to her yelling Nana! She arrived in time to get up to her elbows in vomit. LB got a 24 hour stomach bug and puked all night Thursday night. Lovely. We spent the weekend with one sick Little Bear, and trying to keep Baby Bear from getting it. Luckily Mike and I were able to sneak out before the vomiting began and went to see Knocked Up. I highly recommend it. Nana left on Sunday. We were sad to see her go. We were so caught up with a sick kid, that I didn't take a single picture this visit. Bad Mommy!
