Ode to Sugar

Sugar and carbs,

oh how I will miss you.

No longer in my diet

Are you premitted.

Damn the Glucose Test!

No more potatoes,

rice,

pasta,

bread.

Thank God for Splenda.



(Yes, this means I failed my 3 hour Test. I am so pissed at myself. I actually did really try this time. I haven't gained the same amount of weight. Now this means I HAVE to cook every night of the week. No ordering out. This sucks!)

Next time we visit I'll spend a couple of days making up some meals ahead for you. Let me know what you enjoy that is allowed.
We should arrive about April 19th and be there for 4 or 5 days.

I feel your pain, Heather!! Do you have to test your blood and all that? I'll tell you a secret... raw spinach. Eat a big handful with any "cheating" items, and it helps to offset it. Also, you can walk around for the next hour after you eat. The exercise helps to metabolize the extra carbs or calories. Steve and I would walk the mall after going out to eat. Then when I checked my Bg after one hour, it was always within proper limits. But eating the raw spinach was easier. You hang in there!!!!

Thanks Jenn. I have to check my BG after meals with a moniter. I did ok with it with LB, I just hope I manage to keep it under control without the insulin this time.
