Drum Roll Please......
Fetal Bear has an 85% chance of being a girl at this point. We have to go back to have another sonogram done in about 3 weeks. She, that is if she is needed a she, was SO active that the technician, couldn't get an accurate picture of the umbilical cord, spine, or facial features; let alone the gender. Yes, that is right, I've got ANOTHER active fetus. In one of the pictures you can see her giving us a thumbs up. The other picture is of her profile. We are so excited, but we are not buying anything pink until AFTER I've had the next sonogram. Keep you fingers crossed for me. We'd really like to have a little girl around here!

Visit with Santa
We finally made it out to the mall to see Jolly St. Nick. I was really surprised by how quiet it was. Afterall, Christams is a week away. I also couldn't believe the racket the photographers have going! They won't let you take your own photos, and then charge OUTRAGEOUS amounts for a 3 by 5. Being the suckers we are, we had to buy some. (The cheapest package of course.) Enjoy Little Bear's first visit with the Big Guy!

Oh My! Has it really been a month?
Appartenly I'm no good at keeping up a daily, or even a weekly blog! What a crazy month it has been! Thanksgiving kept us busy. We had some of our friends over the Sunday before for the 8th annual Functional Family Thanksgiving.
We also had Grandma and Poppa Woody up from Charleston for the actual turkey day. Plus Grandma has been here every weekend since Thanksgiving for a class for work. It's been nice actually, having an extra set of hands to help with Little Bear. This week has been ESPECIALLY hectic. LB has been sick all week with a head cold/ear infection/fever. So ill in fact that we even had an ambulance ride and an ER visit on Tuesday morning. What a week we've been having! On a lighter note, Uncle Matt is getting married to 'Auntie" Chrissy this weekend. Now we can offically call her Aunt Chrissy! Woohoo! Uncle Matt will become a father on or about the same day LB becomes a big brother. I'm doing well. The pregnancy is moving along nicely. We have our sonogram on the 21st. We will then find out if Fetal Bear is a boy or girl! Can't wait.
Now it's time to finish up the holiday madness. With LB being sick, I haven't done much Christmas shopping. Oh the joy. Oh the crowds. Wish me luck!

Halloween Night
What a fun time we had at Auntie Beeg's and Uncle Michael's house for Halloween. We were there to help with the haunted house they put in the front of their home and pass out candy. LB was Uncle Michael's helper, as they were both dressed as pirates. Unfortunatly, LB didn't really appreciate the jumping out of the coffin and the screaming kids. BUT damn if he didn't look adorable in his pirate costume!
Pre-Halloween
Saturday night we took Little Bear to his first Halloween party. His Godmother's church has an annual party, and Beeg and Michael help to create and run a haunted house. LB and Daddy decided to dress as a couple... Mr. Incredible and Dash! LB didn't really appreciate the haunted house yet, but he certainly was entertained running back and forth through the other activities. Maybe he'll enjoy it in a few years!

Cheerios disaster
This past weekend, my darling husband was left to watch my precious son for a few moments. I guess Mike learned that you actually have to "watch" kids, when LB grabbed a box of cheerios off the counter and dumped it. It happened to be an entire box. You should have heard the shriek of delight come from my son's mouth as he swam in the mountain of ceral!

It's official...
Little Bear will become a BIG BROTHER, on or about May 18th. As soon as we get a better sonogram pic, I'll post it. The one from yesterday looks like a whole lotta nothin'! Currently, I'm 10 weeks along and feeling fine.

What a crazy few weeks....
It has been! Little Bear is running around full force. He no longer is content sitting in his stroller or the buggy at the grocery store, while momma or da (as he refers to us) pushes him around. Mike and I have found that a harness has been a LIFESAVER! When I was a toddler, my mother had a leather harness for me that was attached to a dogleash. My parents fondly refered to it as a "Heather Teather". My brother gave one to Little Bear as a gift for his birthday. It's an updated version. It's a soft, stuffed animal "back pack" with a leash attached to it. When he's older, he can use the back pack to hold a few small toys. Best thing ever!!!!!! I recommend this to all my new mom friends.

Busy Weekend
Even though Mike
was out of town this weekend, we sure had plenty to keep us busy. Nana was in town visiting. (That's Nancy, my 1st stepmother!) We spent time with Nana, went for walks, had dinner with cousing Lindsey, went to the park to swing and went on the slide for the first time too! The slide was a big hit!! We can't wait for Nana to visit again.

New Toys
This weekend, Mike and I went and spent WAY too much money on some new toys for Little Bear. LB has been getting tired of playing with the same things over and over, and frankly, so was I. Short attention span there Heather?
We purchased for him a playhouse and his own personal couch. You should have seen the look on his face when he sat on the couch in the store. He beamed! He then parked his behind and started to lounge in it and make it his own. Later that evening when he saw it in the family room, he looked at us and clapped his hands! So precious. Mike got the house built on Sunday and when LB saw it for the first time the look on his face was priceless. I think he throughly enjoys having his own door to bang shut and windows he can open and close at will. Money well spent.

On the road again....
Mike has been away all week long. And oh what a week it has been! Little Bear had his first major fall and looks like I beat the crap out of him. The doctor's office wanted me to sleep with him and rouse him every 4 hours to make sure he could wake up easily. All to make sure that he didn't have a concusion. As the nurse is asking me to do this, LB was running around the room laughing and banging together plastic lids. Concusion? I think not.
