Bath Time

I was in the other room folding laundry this evening, when I happened upon this scene. I got so tickled I had to take pictures!

Fall Weather

Little Bear and Poppa Bear had a fun day together on Friday. I had to work and school was closed so they had a boys' day home. Thank goodness I got home earlier than usual and we were all able to enjoy the beautiful weather.

Halloween Night

What a fun time we had at Auntie Beeg's and Uncle Michael's house for Halloween. We were there to help with the haunted house they put in the front of their home and pass out candy. LB was Uncle Michael's helper, as they were both dressed as pirates. Unfortunatly, LB didn't really appreciate the jumping out of the coffin and the screaming kids. BUT damn if he didn't look adorable in his pirate costume!

Pre-Halloween

Saturday night we took Little Bear to his first Halloween party. His Godmother's church has an annual party, and Beeg and Michael help to create and run a haunted house. LB and Daddy decided to dress as a couple... Mr. Incredible and Dash! LB didn't really appreciate the haunted house yet, but he certainly was entertained running back and forth through the other activities. Maybe he'll enjoy it in a few years!

Art Work

Little Bear has had the opportunity at school to explore different mediums of art. Of course, I'm a little biased, but I think he's a genius!

Cheerios disaster

This past weekend, my darling husband was left to watch my precious son for a few moments. I guess Mike learned that you actually have to "watch" kids, when LB grabbed a box of cheerios off the counter and dumped it. It happened to be an entire box. You should have heard the shriek of delight come from my son's mouth as he swam in the mountain of ceral!

1st Pumpkin

Our neighbor went to the pumpkin patch and brought Little Bear his first pumpkin. He loves it! I wonder what he'll think of it when we carve it?

Mommy's Little Helper

Little Bear has discovered the broom. Every time I sweep, he wants to help. Luckily, I happen to have the perfect size broom for him!

It's official...

Little Bear will become a BIG BROTHER, on or about May 18th. As soon as we get a better sonogram pic, I'll post it. The one from yesterday looks like a whole lotta nothin'! Currently, I'm 10 weeks along and feeling fine.

What a crazy few weeks....

It has been! Little Bear is running around full force. He no longer is content sitting in his stroller or the buggy at the grocery store, while momma or da (as he refers to us) pushes him around. Mike and I have found that a harness has been a LIFESAVER! When I was a toddler, my mother had a leather harness for me that was attached to a dogleash. My parents fondly refered to it as a "Heather Teather". My brother gave one to Little Bear as a gift for his birthday. It's an updated version. It's a soft, stuffed animal "back pack" with a leash attached to it. When he's older, he can use the back pack to hold a few small toys. Best thing ever!!!!!! I recommend this to all my new mom friends.

Busy Weekend

Even though Mike
was out of town this weekend, we sure had plenty to keep us busy. Nana was in town visiting. (That's Nancy, my 1st stepmother!) We spent time with Nana, went for walks, had dinner with cousing Lindsey, went to the park to swing and went on the slide for the first time too! The slide was a big hit!! We can't wait for Nana to visit again.

New Toys

This weekend, Mike and I went and spent WAY too much money on some new toys for Little Bear. LB has been getting tired of playing with the same things over and over, and frankly, so was I. Short attention span there Heather?
We purchased for him a playhouse and his own personal couch. You should have seen the look on his face when he sat on the couch in the store. He beamed! He then parked his behind and started to lounge in it and make it his own. Later that evening when he saw it in the family room, he looked at us and clapped his hands! So precious. Mike got the house built on Sunday and when LB saw it for the first time the look on his face was priceless. I think he throughly enjoys having his own door to bang shut and windows he can open and close at will. Money well spent.

On the road again....

Mike has been away all week long. And oh what a week it has been! Little Bear had his first major fall and looks like I beat the crap out of him. The doctor's office wanted me to sleep with him and rouse him every 4 hours to make sure he could wake up easily. All to make sure that he didn't have a concusion. As the nurse is asking me to do this, LB was running around the room laughing and banging together plastic lids. Concusion? I think not.

Sprinter or Marathon?

Little bear started running away from us today in the front yard. For some reason he seems to really like my neighbors garden. Mike had to run after him a few times before he attempted to walk into their front door!

Labor Day

My last day of freedom for the next 10 months has offically started. Unfortunatly I have spent most of it on the couch. But I have been cuddling with Little Bear all morning. He took his nap earlier than usual today, curled up on his momma's lap. So cute!
Currently we're finishing lunch. Check out the cottage cheese in his hair.

Sleep Deprived

Oh will I ever get a good nights sleep again? Little Bear is teething and feverish and screaming for something close to three hours a night. I think I had 3 hours of sleep. This is reminiscent of last August and September!
Bad mommy that I am, is deciding whether or not Benedryl at bedtime would be such a bad thing this evening.

Electronics.....aarragghh!

Our internet has been down for 4 days. So frustrating! I've just dropped Little Bear off at school and I'm using the computers at work for my own personal means before I head off on my last day of freedom. I start back to work tomorrow. I'm actually looking forward to being back on some sort of schedule. I've decided its hard for me when left to my own devices, to get anything done.
Hopefully our interent connection will be working soon! Kiddo has been walking up a storm, but has also been a PILL the past few days. I believe he is teething, cutting his molars. I just wish that he would stop waking up 3 times a night. I'm utterly exhausted. One night of uninterruppted sleep is all that I ask!
