Bad Words

I've got T. all to myself these days, since he is not in camp/daycare and Little girl is. On the way to go pick up my daughter yesterday, T. and I had quite the conversation. He was explaining to me that per a previous conversation we'd had, that when he is a grown up, he can say bad words. "Mommy, when I'm a daddy, and I hurt myself, I can say 'sh*t"." Being motheroftheyear, I of course couldn't help myself from laughing. "Mommy, are you laughing at me?" "Yes, honey I am." "You're laughing because I said 'sh*t', right?" (Laughing harder at this point!)"Yes, I am!"
I'm going to pay for this later I'm sure.

Wow, where has the time gone?

Is what I've been asking myself daily. I have been completely remiss in any posting attempts this year. Frankly, my only excuse is that I've been absolutely exhausted. Mike is forever out of town, and working full time, raising two children, and running a house have consummed my time, well that and Facebook!
Now that summer is here and I've found my camera battery, I hope to start posting alot. We've had some much happen! We went to Disney in April, Vivi turned 2 in May, Grandma has come to live in the area for a year for work. All good and wonderful things. On my honor, I will try my best to keep up with posting over the summer. We'll see how it goes!

The Nutcracker

My darlin' son had an accident this afternoon on his way to the bathroom. He very quickly took off all his clothes and placed them into the washing machine per mommy's instructions. Well, when you are 3 nothing is better than being naked. T. proceeded to dance around and enjoy the breeze. I looked over and he had found an old nutcracker in the drawer.
"Mommy, what's this?"
(laughing from the sheer irony of it all) "It's a nutcracker honey."
"A nutcracker! What's that for?"
(still giggling) "Well, it's to crack nuts. Do you want to crack some nuts?"
"Yeah! Nutcracker, nutcracker, nutcracker.." That's when the full booty shaking dance started, right in front of my sliding glass door, where no drapes were pulled. My neighbors must think I'm a fabulous mother.
Oh, and that's when my daughter insisted she take off her shirt and dance with T.
Perfect.

Mommy in Time Out

Ok, I admit, I have a mouth like a sailor. Most of you who have known me for eons, or just five minutes know that. I have my particular favorite expressions and have not been good about cleaning in up in front of my kids. Well, about two weeks ago, my darling son started to utter one of my favorites in front of his father. You know, F***. How proud am I???? Anyhow, when he said it again the next day, I happened to be home and Mike made sure he repeated it to me. I laughed. I know, wrong response. I sat there giggling as I said, Oh T. that makes mommy very sad. Please don't say it again, he he he.
Well he hadn't said it in a week, when I was on the phone and dropped it again. He says, "Mommy you said f***. Mommy, we don't say f***. You in time out!"
Yep, I got schooled by my three year old.
Then the next day, I wasn't even TALKING and he says to me, "Mommy we don't say f***."
How proud am I?
At least he's only said it to me and Mike at this point!!!!

Toes!

My lovely little daughter has discovered her toes. She lifts them up, examines them, and then uses them to roll from side to side. She has also blessed me with a viewing of her rolling over. She apparently is rolling over all the time at school. By the time we get home in the evening, playtime is at a minimum. I try to get her some good rolling time, but between dinner, nebbie, bath x 2, stories, there isn't much time to lay under the gym. Do I have pictures of this event? No. Bad Mommy, I know. I'm doing my best to keep a house running, work full time, and be a single mom all at the same time! October 26th can't come soon enough.

And the award for Parents of the Year goes too....

Me and Mike!

My poor poor son. Last night on a mission to get some more milk, he stepped upon the step stool, tipped it over and bumped his nose. It got so swollen so quickly we thought he broke it, so off to Kaiser Mike and LB went. It was 8:15 at night. His bed time. Turns out it isn't broke, just bruised. Thank GOD! He does look like he's been boxing. I believe Grandpa D took boxing lessons in his youth. Maybe LB will do the same?

And not to be left out, a picture of my sleeping princess!

First Haircut

Little Bear was starting to look a little shaggy around the edges, so we took him this evening for his very first haircut. I was so surprised by how well he actually did. He sat in the seat and watched the cartoons and didn't even budge! Of course bad mommy that I am, did not have the camera available. Poor planning on my part I know. Here are some before and after shots of his hair. I actually teared up. He isn't my baby anymore. He really looks like a boy now!

Pictures from the Holidays

If you can believe, when Christmas morning arrived, our digital camera was no where to be found. We did video the whole morning, but not being as techno savvy as I'd like to be, I haven't quite figured out how to download/upload video yet. That will be my summer project. The camera also managed to be MIA during our entire vacation. I know, I know... BAD MOMMY! Enjoy the few shots we did take!

On the road again....

Mike has been away all week long. And oh what a week it has been! Little Bear had his first major fall and looks like I beat the crap out of him. The doctor's office wanted me to sleep with him and rouse him every 4 hours to make sure he could wake up easily. All to make sure that he didn't have a concusion. As the nurse is asking me to do this, LB was running around the room laughing and banging together plastic lids. Concusion? I think not.

Sleep Deprived

Oh will I ever get a good nights sleep again? Little Bear is teething and feverish and screaming for something close to three hours a night. I think I had 3 hours of sleep. This is reminiscent of last August and September!
Bad mommy that I am, is deciding whether or not Benedryl at bedtime would be such a bad thing this evening.

Pampering

I so throughly enjoyed my pampering day to myself. I had a facial and a pedicure. Little Bear spent the day with his teachers and friends at school. When I went to pick him up this afternoon I did feel like the worst mother ever. Apparently my son was suffering from a severe case of Monkey Butt when I dropped him off today. I had NO idea, partly because he won't be still long enough for me to look at him while I'm cleaning him off during a change. I let him stand up and bang on the wall and I do the best wiping job I can. On his daily report home in big bold letters, was "Bottom VERY VERY red." Now I just feel horrible because I didn't notice. I don't think I'll be getting the worst mother in the world award this time, only because I am positive I'll do worse things in the future to screw up my kid!
